Dilek was born in Bolu which is a famous city with its chefs, in spite of the fact that all members of her family are chefs, she decided to be a tourist guide and graduated from Ankara University Tourist Guideness Department in 2001. She has been working as a tourist guide in different cities since 2003 and lived in different parts of Turkey like Antalya, Ankara and Bolu. She lives in the old part of Istanbul now and likes the city so much.

I saw Backpackers Travel in Istanbul on your website. I contacted them about walking tours of Istanbul. They quickly responded & were very informative as to what they offered. We are home from our trip to Turkey. We loved your country and the people. Thank you and Dilek for helping us get the most out of our Istanbul stay. Ms. Dilek arrive at our hotel at the arranged time. Our day with her was well spent. She changed the first part of the schedule to avoid the afternoon crowds at the Dolmabahce Palace. Good idea. Additionally she used her experience to get us tickets for entrance to the Palace without having to wait in line. These two things must have saved us an hour on a very tight schedule.
